Hatherly Laboratories

The two laboratories in Hatherly run by the Medical School are led by Professor Andrew Randall and Professor Robert Pawlak. Both groups consist of Research Fellows, PhD students, a Professor, undergraduate students on placement and working visitors.

Professor Andrew Randall's team are working on research into Alzheimer's disease and looking at understanding how electrical signalling is produced and how it modifies the experience and disease. Professor Randall's team are partly funded by the Alzheimer's Society’s Doctoral Training Centre.

Professor Robert Pawlak's team are working on how memories and emotions are formed in the brain. They also look at stress response and the way in which fear and anxiety are formed in the brain. Robert's group are partly funded by Extrabrain.
