Jimmy Wangdi is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism research group. His main area of research concerns nutritional interventions for health, muscle recovery and exercise performance, with his current project looking at the use of a novel mitochondrial substrate supplement for exercise capacity, exercise performance, and cognitive function. Prior to taking up his current role, Dr Wangdi completed his PhD at the QUEX institute, a partnership between the Universities of Queensland and Exeter. His PhD work investigated the influence of Montmorency tart cherry supplementation on exercise performance, sleep and recovery and was supervised by Professor Joanna Bowtell, Associate Professor Vincent Kelly and Dr Mary O'Leary.
