Venue Details

The Conference will be held at the Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel, with additional accommodation being offered at the Mercure Exeter Rougemont Hotel.

Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel

The 4-star Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel was originally built around two Georgian townhouses. This elegant Exeter hotel is situated a short stroll from the Cathedral and Princesshay Shopping Centre.

Mercure Exeter Rougement Hotel

The 4-star Mercure Exeter Rougemont Hotel is in the heart of Exeter. The elegant Victorian building is situated directly facing Exeter Central train station and Rougemont Gardens, while it still maintains many of its original features.

Abstract submission
Please submit title and abstract of the proposed paper via https://forms.office.com/e/b6hr3DGHfx. Abstracts should be sent as word documents with a maximum 350 words.

Abstracts must be submitted by 9th October at 5pm if you wish to have a paper considered.

Abstracts will be available to download to delegates to the conference. After the conference, HESG members will be able to download papers for the meeting from the accepted papers archive.

We are pleased to offer an 'early-bird' rate for registration. This offer is available for all those booking before 10th November 2023.

HESG have funded two bursaries for undergraduate students reading health economics as part of their course to attend the HESG Winter 2024 meeting in Exeter. Bursaries will cover the cost of registration, accommodation as well as the gala dinner.

To apply students need to make application by email to: Health-Economics@exeter.ac.uk by 8th December 2023, to include the following:

  • Your CV;
  • 150 word statement about your career journey to date, including how your interest in health economics has developed, and what you will gain in terms of research skills and opportunities in attending HESG at Exeter.

Submissions will be entered into a conditional lottery in which applicants will be randomly selected to be offered the conference attendance.

The successful student will be asked to:

  • provide or post at least two tweets from the HESG conference, with the linked hash tags #ExeterHESG.
  • Write a news item of up to 300 words (to include a photo) for the HESG website, about your experiences at the HESG conference. Submission date: end of Friday 17th January 2023

The draft programme is now available on the HESG website, with the provisional abstract booklet.

Please select up to three papers you wish to discuss and up to three you would like to chair and send your preferences before Friday 1st December to health-economics@exeter.ac.uk.
