Overview
Sophie joined the University of Exeter in June 2023 as a Postdoctoral Researcher, working with Dr Sam Hughes on the use of neurophysiological measures of spinal reflexes to assess the top-down modulation of pain by immersive virtual reality in humans.
She previously completed her DPhil (PhD) research on the use of fMRI to develop biomarkers for pain and analgesia.

Research interests
Sophie’s research interests focus on the assessment of pain responses to understand the effects of pharmacological and non-pharmacological analgesic treatments in humans.
