Sarah started her nurse education at the University of Wales, College of Medicine in Cardiff. On qualifying she developed her knowledge and experience by working in a variety of clinical settings including acute medicine, accident and emergency, intensive care. As her career progressed she held a senior nurse position in an acute medical, surgical assessment unit.

Sarah has extensive experience in primary care and is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber. Her recent clinical interests are Primary Care nursing and ensuring holistic family centered care for patients, their families and carers. She has a wealth of knowledge in treating minor illnesses, acute and chronic conditions within general practice across all age ranges.  

Sarah remains involved in clinical teaching and clinical practice and is involved the education of a wide range of health professionals such as student nurses, registered nurses, medical students, physician associates, and clinical pharmacists.

The MSci nursing ethos and innovative structure matches Sarah’s professional values and she is excited about being involved in delivering the new nursing programme to the nurses of the future!

Teaching responsibilities:

Sarah is a full time lecturer and will be involved throughout the course delivering academic lectures and supporting students in clinical placements. Sarah is the lead for Patient Public Involvement (PPI) and works closely with the PPI group to ensure their insights on healthcare delivery and education are at the forefront of the programme.
