Louise is responsible for PR and internal communications for the Medical School. Her role includes publicising both education and research activities. She is also involved in events, stakeholder engagement and celebrating student and staff achievements. As well as press releases, she writes copy for the website and produces a regular staff newsletter. Please get in touch if you have news to share. She joined the University in October 2012, after ten years in journalism.
She has been involved in publicising word-leading research, including:
- Prof Andrew Hattersley’s groundbreaking work on genetic sequencing with Paralympic cyclist Tom Staniford, which generated international publicity.
- Prof William Henley and Prof David Melzer’s research on the link between long-lived parents and cancer, which resulted in several national news outlets covering the story.
