International students

With students from over 20 countries, academic staff of over 25 nationalities and colleagues in over 35 countries, we are a truly international Medical School.

We are recruit high quality students and staff from around the world and are actively investigating challenges in the provision of medicine and healthcare at both local and global levels.

Support

Our international students are given the support and assistance to ensure that their time with us is a success, from a meet and greet service on their arrival, to free in-sessional English language programmes. The Medical School has a dedicated International Student tutor who offers pastoral support and runs sessions with international students so that they can discuss and reflect on their experiences.

Our incoming international students also have the opportunity to team up with an existing student who acts as a mentor and source of advice on anything from tips about writing reflective essays to where to find the best shops and restaurants.

Representatives of the University’s International Office regularly travel to different countries to meet with propective students, offer them advice about which programmes they are best suited for and answer any questions they may have.
