Health Statistics

The Health Statistics Group, based in the Institute of Health Research and led by Professor William Henley, provides statistical expertise in the Medical School.

Activities of the group include: provision of statistical leadership on health topic-based research projects; development of statistical methods to address methodological challenges in such studies; and delivery of statistics teaching to undergraduate students, postgraduate students and health care professionals.

Areas of expertise include statistical methods for allowing for unmeasured confounding in observational studies and the design, conduct and analysis of data from individually randomised and cluster randomised trials.
