All change and new faces

At the end of September we said goodbye to Professor Judy Green as she left both SPHERE and the wider University for a much-deserved retirement. We are very grateful to Judy for all the time and support she has devoted to our SPHR work, not least of all as Exeter’s Health Inequalities Programme Lead since May 2024. Judy will be very much missed as a formal member of the team, but we hope to continue working with her in her Emeritus role.
Meanwhile, we are pleased to announce that from 1 October Professor Helen Dodd has taken over the reins of the HI Programme. Thanks are extended to Helen for taking on this role who is already a member of the SPHERE team leading the SPHR funded project ‘Helping at risk young people engage with community assets to support mental health'. We are very much looking forward to also working with her as an SPHR Lead over the next few years.
This term also sees us welcome four new colleagues to our every growing SPHERE family: Kirsty Tooke has joined the Three Schools Prevention Programme as a Project Manager; Barshana Goswami will be working on an Areas for Research Innovation Programme project; Kath Wilkinson has joined a Voluntary Sector Evaluation Scheme project; and Kate Kerwood has joined the PS team providing cover for Fleur Boyle.
