SPHERE Annual Conference 2026

As we embark on our fifth year as a member of the NIHR School for Public Health (SPHR), we are excited to present our 2026 annual summer conference bringing together colleagues in local authorities, service providers, third sector and community organisations with public health research academics to learn from each other, explore areas of joint interest and to facilitate new connections.
The event is divided into two parts: the morning CPD workshop is primarily aimed at public health practitioners and other colleagues with an interest in public health research; and University of Exeter academic colleagues will join for lunch and the afternoon conference.
As usual there will be an update from our Director, GJ Melendez-Torres, as well as news of current and forthcoming SPHR projects lead by and involving Exeter.
Throughout the day you will be able to meet the academic staff involved and ask plenty of questions. Our newly appointed Director for Involvement and Engagement, Dr Michelle Tester-Jones, will be on hand to answer any queries about SPHERE’s local approach to public involvement and engagement (PPIE).
