Mr Valdemar Dias Do Espirito Santo

Valdemar’s keen interest in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) led him to secure a position with the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC). There he developed a breadth of clinical and health economic knowledge. He has also been a key member of national decision-making committees including the New Drugs Committee (NDC), the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN)

and the Scottish Health Technologies Group (SHTG). He has also four years of experience working for the industry both in the UK and Portugal.

Within his current role in PENTAG as Research Fellow in Health Economics and Health Policy, Valdemar works within an Evidence Review Group (ERG) where he undertakes HTA on behalf of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

In his spare time, Valdemar enjoys spending time with his family and snowboarding.
