Rowan Streckfuss Davis is a Graduate Research Assistant based in the Children and Young People's Mental Health Research Collaboration (ChYMe) at the University of Exeter.
His current research is on improving support systems for youth settings to address self-harm and suicide in teenagers and young adults. He has previously worked on research evaluating potential harms in school mental health interventions; assessing the impact and potential for digital platforms in adolescent mental health; co-designing and co-producing mental health research in partnership with communities; and exploring positive experiences and emotions around gender identity.
Rowan is interested in critical and community-based approaches to addressing mental health inequalities across the lifespan. In addition to research, Rowan works with a number of LGBTQ+ youth organisations as a co-ordinator and deputy safeguarding lead.
Rowan is one of two representatives at Exeter for ResNet, the early career researcher network for NIHR's School of Public Health Research.
