Oli is a Lecturer and Lead Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Coach employed under a hybrid role by Public Health and Sport Sciences, and Performance Sport. As a lecturer, Oli teaches across each year of the BSc Exercise and Sport Sciences programme and is an academic tutor as well as a dissertation supervisor at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Oli is a UKSCA accredited S&C coach. He oversees S&C for the university Performance Sport programme, leading on the Netball and Men's Cricket programmes. He works with partner organisations such as Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS), working with athletes from a multitude of sports as well as leading S&C for the TASS British Sailing Hub at the university. Oli is also responsible for Performance Sport student placements in S&C, where BSc and MSc students complete placements in various aspects of S&C and Sports Science working with the Performance Sport programme. Alongside his employed role, Oli is a part-time post graduate research student. He has a specific interest in individual athlete responses to sport pain, where his thesis title is Psychological Predictors of Pain and Pain-related Outcomes in Athletes.
