About me:
I have a background in philosophy and medical sociology – with expertise in ethics and qualitative methodologies – and professional experience in the management consulting industry and charity sector. I am a Senior Lecturer in Public Health, and member of the Relational Health Group.
I am leading 'Care Under Pressure': an interdisciplinary research programme that aims to understand the causes of mental ill-health and well-being in health professionals, across specialties and career stages, and make informed recommendations to tackle this problem. I also work for the European School of Oncology on Oncohumanities - including ethical issues around cancer care, supportive care, end of life, and dying.
I previously undertook research on ethical, legal and social issues around genomic medicine and research at Egenis: the Centre for the Study of Life Sciences (see for example Recontacting in mainstreaming genetics).
