About me:

Anna is a researcher based in the Children and Young People’s Mental Health (ChYMe) Collaboration in the College of Medicine and Health. Anna works on the NIHR-funded ATTEND programme which aims to refine, evaluate, and optimise the implementation of a novel intervention, Mindfulness for Adolescents and Carers (MAC), for young people with depression who have failed to completely respond to first line treatment or who have relapsed. The focus of her role is to understand how best we can start using MAC across the country should it be found to be effective in reducing symptoms of depression in the randomized controlled trial.

Prior to this role Anna worked at the University on the IDEAL research programme, the largest study of living well with dementia in Great Britain. She has also worked on commercial clinical trials at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and within different NHS services providing support for people with acute mental health needs and long-standing fatigue linked to a variety of illnesses.

Interests:

Anna’s research interests lie in exploring the socio-environmental determinants of children’s (mental) health and health inequalities as well as opportunities for prevention and intervention. Anna is also interested in the impact of chronic health conditions on young people and their families.
