Alice is a Research Fellow, within the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Research Collaboration (ChYMe) leading the EMBRACE project, looking at the need for personalised treatments within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and PenARC,
Alice formerly worked as a Research Fellow at the Medical School, leading a work package within the SPaCE study, which looked to map access to mental health services for parent carers of children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). Before this she led the implementation of the Healthy Parent Carer Programme, supporting the health and wellbeing of parent carers of SEND, and the DECODE feasibility trial of a system which used predictive modelling to estimate the probability of dementia.
Before joining the College for Medicine & Health, Alice worked for the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) as a Research Delivery Manager, overseeing an extensive portfolio of studies across a number of disciplines, including Ageing, Mental Health, Dementia, Neurodegeneration and Neurology. As part of the role, Alice collaborated with many voluntary, health and private sectors, both on an individual and institutional level, including acute and mental health trusts, researchers, academics and pharmaceutical companies, on a regional, national and international level.
Before this Alice worked as a Clinical Lead for the Devon Partnership NHS trust, facilitating the successful delivery of a wide portfolio of studies within dementia and mental health. Alice has also worked in several clinical roles, within acute and primary care settings with people experiencing both mild to moderate and acute mental health problems. She has clinical training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT), and is an experienced clinical rater in several psychometric and cognitive assessments.
