Dr Jemma Perks is Postdoctoral Research Associate in Medical Statistics for Health Technology Assessment, working with the Peninsula Technology Assessment Group (PenTAG), one of 11 research units in the UK providing expert advice on the clinical- and cost-effectiveness of new drugs and medical devices to the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NICE) Technology Appraisal committees. PenTAG also supports the work of NICE's Medical Technologies Evaluation Programme and the Singapore Ministry of Health.

Dr Jemma Perks' background is as a quantitative researcher and exercise physiologist, with a Ph.D in cardiovascular sciences. Her Ph.D investigated alternative methods to increase physical activity in the treatment of peripheral artery disease, supporting the use of pain free exercise and breaking up sitting time as non-pharmaceutical treatments in this population. Since then, she has worked with the University of Oxford and University of Exeter in postdoctoral roles, offering expertise in this space.
