A Senior Lecturer and radiographic practitioner with international experience, coincided with transnational collaboration. Clinically experienced in general imaging, CT and MRI in the UK, whilst academically, having held previous positions in the UK, UAE and Australia. I am currently the Programme Director for the BSc (Hons) Medical Imaging programme in Exeter, and historically led research projects, coincided with course accreditation, revalidation, course/subject development, subject coordination, and committee membership(s)/Chair duties. My scholarly and research interests fall within medical imaging, enhanced by medical anthropology and emerging/disruptive technologies. I have either authored, edited, or commissioned 15+ books and published 50+ peer reviewed papers/book chapters. I am the Founding Editor to the Medical Imaging in Practice (book series), with CRC Press [2019]. Lastly, proud to have reviewed over 60 manuscripts for international journals (Q1 – Q4).

Research interests

My primary and supervisory interests span the spectrum of the social sciences and the natural sciences, appreciating qualitative, mixed method and/or quantitative methodologies.  These include (and are not limited to) observational studies, survey/sequential designs; coupled with experimental studies in general radiography and CT. Other interests involve research philosophy/methodology in medicine, health, and rehabilitation, supported with advancements in both everyday and emerging technology, the latter Virtual Reality, Internet of Medical Things, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

Since arriving at Exeter I have been involved in teaching and leading modules linked to professional practice, computed tomography, dose optimisation, image interpretation and research. I have been the inargural module lead for the postgraduate (MSci) computed tomography module (PAMM113). I have led practice placement 3 (PAM3018), image interpretation (PAM3019) and professional practice (PAM3020) for the undergraduate programme and Practice Foundations 1 (RAD1003DA) and Practice Foundations 2 (RAD2003DA) for the degree apprenticeship programme. In August 2022, I was appointed to Programme Director for the BSc (Hons) in Medical Imaging (undergraduate programme).
