Overview

As Clinical Student Experience Manager for the BMBS programme in Truro, Tim leads the education support team and works with colleagues across campuses to ensure that the student experience and quality of learning are exceptional and that staff are supported in their work and development. Tim also provides BMBS teaching and has led a range of initiatives on the programme.

Tim has over two decades’ worth of experience teaching and leading education across a number of institutions, including while Academic Deputy Head for St John’s College School in Cambridge where he was part of a senior leadership team that led staff and pupils to exceptional inspection outcomes.

Tim’s professional interests and experience include leading the enhancement of learning and teaching and supporting the strategic development of individuals’ and groups’ CPD. His previous roles at the University of Exeter have included leading the ASPIRE PRP across the institution, leading LTHE in Cornwall and supporting a wide range of activity from Outreach and Widening Participation to National Teaching Fellowship applications. Tim has also held a role on the CSSIS Education Strategy Group developing College Education Strategy.

Teaching

Teaching responsibilities: (Undergraduate, Postgraduate)

Tim has taught a range of subjects from Primary to Level 7 but his recent focus has been on teaching the teachers. In 2018/19 he has been leading teaching on BMBS Years 3 & 4 Development Weeks and a Microteach trial for BMBS Year 5.
