Overview

I am Director of Education for Medical Imaging in the College of Medicine and Health.  I have overall operational responsibilty for BSc (Hons) Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiography) and Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging Degree Apprenticeship.

I am a 2019 Education Incubator Fellow.

Career

I qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer from University of Southampton in 1994 and enjoyed a varied career focusing on MRI and clincal education before joining University of Exeter in 2009.  I have gained experience working within the NHS as both a general and cross-sectional radiographer and have also worked in the private sector and industry through specialisation in MRI.

Research interests

My main research interest is student success which encompasses both attainment and programme completion.

Research projects

I am currently involved in an Education Incubator project exploring the scope of flexible blended learning as a tool to support students undertaking full-time study whilst balancing external responsibilities.
