Overview

Robert has been a consultant pathologist in Cornwall for 26 years and is also a senior clinical lecturer/associate professor at Exeter University Medical School. He is a small group facilitator, academic tutor and pastoral tutor and runs an assortment of special study units for medical students, including the antibiotic properties of lichens and learning Latin.

Robert is currently developing an international portfolio, having been involved in a project investigating malaria deaths in Mozambique, training future pathologists in Zambia and currently leading on a project linking EUMS with a new medical school in Ethiopia.

His first degree was in Classics and this gave him an interest in exploring how the arts and humanities can inform the study of medicine.
