Overview
Josh is a postdoctoral research associate in the Dementia Genomics team in the Complex Disease Epigenetics group. His research focusses on investigating gene regulatory and epigenomic changes in neurodegenerative diseases, with particular interest in DNA methylation and spatial molecular profiling methods. Currently his primary project looks to explore gene expression and microRNA changes in the brains of patients with familial Alzheimer's disease.
In 2019 Josh joined the Epigenetics of Complex Diseases group at the RILD as a PhD Student under the supervision of Professor Katie Lunnon, Dr. Ehsan Pishva and Professor Jon Mill. His PhD project will focussed on profiling epigenomic changes in methylation state associated with Dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia. Prior to this , Josh worked for Eli Lilly and Co. as a neuropathologist researching neurodegenerative conditions through histological analysis of mouse and human samples.
