Overview

Jacqueline Whatmore graduated with a degree in Biology from University of Manchester and was awarded her PhD in Cell Biology from Aston.  Following postdoctoral positions at University College London, Dr Whatmore moved to the University of Exeter to specialise in endothelial cell biology.

Dr Whatmore is currently a Senior Lecturer and head of the Endothelial Cell Biology Group. Her research focuses on the molecular basis of vascular/endothelial changes in pathological conditions such as diabetes and cancer metastasis and is funded by the Medical Research Council, Diabetes UK, the British Heart Foundation, and FORCE Cancer Charity.

Dr Whatmore is actively involved in Microcirculation research worldwide and is the Honorary Treasurer of the British Microcirculation Society.
