Overview

Professor Claire Hulme is a health economist.  Her background and interests lie in complex interventions (specifically those which span the health and social care sectors) with interlinked interests in health inequalities particularly informal care and the economic impact of ill-health on individuals and their families. Her research includes a wide range of methodologies including economic evaluation, large data analysis and use of qualitative methods in health economics.

Research interests

•Health technology assessment including economic evaluation alongside clinical trials with particular focus on oncology and older people

•Research in health inequalities with a particular interest in the economic impact of ill-health to individuals and their families; the effect on employment and employment opportunities of age and informal care
