Annette is a Research Associate in the PenARC Patient and Public Involvement team. Her role entails helping to support the effective and meaningful involvement of patients and the public in health and social care research.
Prior to this, she was part of the PenCRU research team, primarily working on the Healthy Parent Carers programme. She originally trained as a nurse and has a background in learning and development in the health and social care sector, including roles in the local authority, NHS and a health charity.
Annette is interested in the PPIE experiences of those patients and members of the public who get involved in health services research. This includes considering what meaningful PPIE looks like, what support is useful for PPIE members and researchers, as well as the impact that PPIE can have on research outcomes and the translation of those findings into practice.
