Overview
Allison studied Biochemistry at the University of Birmingham. During her studies she completed a placement year at Merck Sharp and Dohme’s UK Discovery Centre which focuses on diseases of aging, in particular neurodegeneration. She is currently a PhD student in the Rare Diseases group at the University of Exeter Medical School. Her thesis title is ‘Developing a New Blood Test to Revolutionise Diagnosis and Management of Motor Neurone Disease’.

Research interests
Allison’s research interests are in identifying and understanding the genetic causes and molecular basis of neurological disorders.
