Overview

Alice is a PhD student, under the supervision of Dr Richard Oram, Dr Beverly Shields and Dr Sarah Richardson. She graduated from University of Exeter in 2018 in Natural Sciences which allowed her to develop skills bridging traditional scientific boundaries. She believes the future and key to progressing scientifically is an interdisciplinary approach to science, and her PhD exploits the interface between clinical science and islet biology, aiming to better understand the biological process underlying changes in the beta cells and insulin production over time in people with type 1 diabetes.

In her free time Alice enjoys all things outdoors, particularly hiking and water sports. She is also a trained dancer and regularly partake in ballet and contemporary classes.
