Syed Marwan Syed Jaffar

Syed Marwan is conducting his PhD at the University of Exeter under the supervision of Sean Flynn to study mechanisms of enhancer function in neuronal cells. He graduated from the University of Manchester for his Bachelor's and Master's, gaining experience in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, and Systems Biology. His research experience includes perturbation of non-coding genomic elements in K562 cells via CRISPR-Cas9, transcriptomic analysis of wdr-5(-) and rbbp-5(-) of C. elegans, differential abundance analysis of synovial fibroblast cells from rheumatoid arthritis patients, and simulating H3K9 methylation dynamics in R.
