Serge Engamba is a General Practitioner and NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) GP Commercial Research Fellow within APEx – the Collaboration for Academic Primary Care at the University of Exeter. He also works clinically as a GP and Primary Care Network Research Lead.

Before joining Exeter, Serge held honorary research appointments at the University of East Anglia and now at the University of Birmingham, contributing to national programmes on continuity of care, research delivery, and inclusive participation. He is Deputy Chair of the Primary Care Academic Collaborative (PACT) and works with the NIHR Research Delivery Network to strengthen primary care research capacity.

Serge’s research focuses on relational continuity of care, using realist methods to explore interventions to improve patient–clinician continuity. He also leads work on primary care commercial research integration, having served as Chief Investigator on studies in hypertension and metabolic disease. His broader interests include implementation science, equitable research participation, primary care research delivery models, and capacity-building initiatives that empower clinicians to take part in research
