Rowan Streckfuss Davis is an early career researcher based in the Children and Young People's Mental Health Research Collaboration (ChYMe) at the University of Exeter. He is a research assistant working with Dr Abigail Russell on the 4S Study, funded by NIHR SPHR, which aims to improve the support systems in youth settings around self-harm and suicide. He is the principal investigator on a scoping study to explore and map strengths-based concepts in gender healthcare, funded by an NIHR SPHR Early Career Researcher Network (ResNet) grant.

Rowan has previously worked on research evaluating potential harms in school mental health interventions; assessing the impact and potential for digital platforms in mental health research; co-designing and co-producing mental health research in partnership with communities; and exploring positive experiences and emotions around gender identity.

Rowan is interested in health systems and in critical and participatory approaches to addressing health inequalities across the lifespan. His particular topic interests include gender and healthcare, suicide and self-harm, and digital mental health.

In addition to research, Rowan works in roles within the NHS and with LGBTQ+ youth organisations.

Rowan is one of two representatives at Exeter for ResNet, the early career researcher network for NIHR's School of Public Health Research.
