Joe is an Associate Lecturer in Genomic Medicine at the University of Exeter. He graduated from the University of the West of England, Bristol, with a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MRes in Applied Sciences. In 2018, he joined the rare disease genetics research group at the University of Exeter led by Professors Andrew Crosby and Emma Baple and has been part of a translational research programme investigating the molecular causes of novel disorders relating to the disruption of ciliary function, which cause situs abnormalities and/or primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD). His principal area of interest is the use of cutting edge genomic and omic technologies to delineate the cause of rare genetic disorders, particularly in genetically isolated communities and underserved populations. Joe also works closely with the Exeter NHS Genomics Laboratory on translational research and development projects.
