About me:

I joined the University of Exeter in 2022.

I am a Lecturer in Neuroscience with a background that uniquely integrates cognitive neuroscience and clinical practice. My research and teaching focus on cognitive and developmental neuroscience, particularly on language, executive functions, and mental health in young adults. I lead and contribute to several interdisciplinary research projects, including work on maths anxiety, sense of belonging, and the role of generative AI in higher education.

In education, I lead undergraduate and postgraduate modules in coding, cognitive neuroscience, and health psychology, and I contribute broadly across the Neuroscience, Medical Sciences, Medicine, and Health Data Science programmes. My pedagogical practice centres on flipped classrooms, authentic assessment, and evidence‑based approaches to improving student confidence and skill development. I have obtained multiple Education Incubator grants to advance student experience and the quality of assessment and feedback.

I am the Year 2 lead for the BSc Neuroscience, where I co-ordinate module leads across the curriculum, to ensure ILOs and assessment alignment.

In my role as a Speak Out Guardian, I support staff by offering a safe, confidential, and impartial channel to discuss concerns related to workplace culture, dignity, respect, or interpersonal challenges. I help individuals navigate available options, promote informal and constructive resolution where appropriate, and signpost to relevant University support services. I also contribute to institutional change by reporting anonymised trends to senior leaders, ensuring that emerging issues are recognised early and addressed proactively.
