About me:

Amy is a researcher based in the Children and Young People's Mental Health (ChYMe) Research Collaboration in the College of Medicine and Health. Amy is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working on two studies which aim to understand the implementation of interventions and services to support children's health and wellbeing. The two studies are as follows:

1) The Implementation Evaluation of Mindfulness for Adolecents and Carers (MAC) Study part of the wider Adolescents and Carers using mindfulness Therapy To END depression and anxiety (ATTEND)

2) Integrating Financial Wellbeing Support and Parenting Support Study (INTEGRATED)

Previously, Amy worked on the Child Health and Maternity national priority programme which aimed to find effective ways to implement evidence-based interventions to improve children’s and maternity services widely across England.

 

Amy undertook a PhD in Education at Cardiff University. The PhD focused on understanding the impact of poverty and stigmatisation on parents involvement in schools and parents engagement in learning considering ecological frameworks. Amy has also previously worked at the Centre for Development, Evaluation, Complexity and Implementation in Public Health Improvement at Cardiff University, and undertook a secondment at the Department for Education contributing towards the National Strategy for Educational Research and Enquiry in Wales.

 


Interests:

Amy is passionate about tackling child health inequalities and driving social justice through early intervention. Amy is interested in the development and implementation of interventions in children’s health, particularly in relation to addressing inequalities in children’s health and wellbeing.
