About me:

I am systematic reviewer working within the Isca Evidence Synthesis Team, a research group funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research as part of the Evidence Synthesis Programme. Our work aims to address knowledge gaps or to answer a specific question/need for healthcare, public health and social care audiences.

Our team sits within ESMI (Evidence Synthesis & Modelling for Health Improvement), a vibrant and multidisciplinary research group which specialises in the synthesis of research evidence for health policy and practice.

I have worked within the Isca team since it formed in 2023, however I have worked at the university since 2017, initially working on the HERO study (Home-based extended rehabilitation for older people), a multi-centre randomised controlled trial that investigated whetehr a home-based exercise intervention plus usual care as extended rehabilitation for older people with frailty improved health-related quality of life. and after that, a mixed-methods systematic review assessing the impact of multi-component interventions which aim to improve recovery and length of hospital stay for older adults following a planned surgical procedures. Directly before working within Isca I developed a cross-sectional web-based survey to explore the role of health and social work advanced practitioners in primary care and community settings in the UK, to understand how they support older people and factors that may impact on their use of technology in practice.
