About me:

I lead the Engaged Health Research Group at the Department of Health and Community Sciences The Engaged Health Research Group | Health and Community Sciences | University of Exeter The Group includes the patient and public involvement teams of Exeter Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and the Applied Research Collaboration South West Peninsula (PenARC) Patient & Public Involvement & Engagement - PenARC (nihr.ac.uk) We are also involved in supporting PPIE for the HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) NHS Royal Devon | NIHR HealthTech Research Centre and for groups across the University of Exeter Medical School. Most of our work is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

The Engaged Health Research Group helps researchers at the university and within services to involve patients and members of the public in their research, from funding applications through the entire lifecycle of a study and to dissemination.

I have worked collaboratively with service users, patients and members of the public since I started out in research with Barnardo's, the children's charity. My PhD focused on patient involvement in systematic reviews, with a specific focus on care experienced young people.
