Kinan Mokbel is a Senior Academic Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Exeter and an Honorary Professor at Brunel University London. He brings extensive experience across clinical research, pharmacy practice and higher education, and is currently a Research Fellow on the ERASE-LC study. He also holds an Honorary Senior Research Fellowship at the London Breast Institute, The Princess Grace Hospital, London.

Kinan is the Programme Director for the MSc Leading Clinical Research Delivery (LCRD) at the University of Exeter. The programme is designed for health and care professionals involved in clinical research delivery and focuses on building practical capability in research design, governance, implementation, leadership and inclusive research practice. It aligns closely with NIHR priorities and supports professionals to lead, deliver and improve high-quality clinical research within real-world healthcare settings.

Kinan also lectures in Clinical Pharmacy, Advanced Clinical Practice and Pharmacology. With over twenty years of experience as a pharmacist across healthcare practice and clinical research, Kinan is a dedicated academic who has taught on undergraduate, postgraduate and professional development programmes for practising pharmacists. Kinan currently provides academic leadership as Module Lead for core modules within both the MSc Clinical Pharmacy and MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programmes:

Alongside this role, Kinan is the Pharmacology Strand Lead within the Nursing Academy, overseeing pharmacology teaching across all four years of the MSci Nursing programme and supporting students throughout their training. This integrated four-year Master’s degree leads to an MSci Nursing qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

In his clinical research role on the ERASE-LC study, Kinan is the primary patient contact and is responsible for coordinating the safe delivery of clinical assessments and treatments. He previously held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Health and Community Sciences at the University of Exeter, contributing to the Spotting Cancer among Comorbidities (SPOCC) programme - an NIHR-funded project with University College London. His research focused on help-seeking behaviour and the early identification of cancer in patients with existing comorbidities.

Through his Honorary Professorship at Brunel University London and Honorary Senior Research Fellowship at the London Breast Institute, The Princess Grace Hospital, London, Kinan works with a multidisciplinary research team exploring the genetic influences on treatment response and the development of novel cancer therapeutics.

"Kinan welcomes enquiries from motivated undergraduate, MSc and PhD students interested in research aligned with his expertise and interests. He is also open to collaboration with visiting students and scholars, and encourages anyone interested in potential opportunities to contact him by email".
