Dr Ilianna Lourida

Ilianna is a Research Fellow in Evidence Synthesis & Statistics with the Isca Evidence team. Her current work focuses on a living network meta-analysis investigating the effectiveness and safety of GLP-1 receptor agonists for weight loss. This role builds on her experience in evidence synthesis and applied health research, while expanding her work into new clinical areas.

Ilianna has spent many years working in dementia research, with a particular focus on prevention, risk reduction, dementia care, and the use of evidence to improve health and social care practice. She was previously an NIHR Dementia Capacity Building Research Fellow and led a range of projects, including drug repurposing for dementia risk reduction, cognitive changes during menopause, processes of care in dementia community care, and digital approaches to personalising domiciliary dementia care.

Her research interests include the application of evidence synthesis and quantitative methods to complex health questions. She has a particular interest in how research evidence can be used to inform decision-making, improve care, and support better outcomes for patients and the public.

She has previously been a member of the Evidence Synthesis Team, where she led projects focused on evidence-based practice to improve dementia care, including interventions to improve the experience of care for people with dementia in hospital and implementation strategies to improve dementia care across different settings
