Ilianna is a NIHR Dementia Capacity Building Research Fellow. She is currently contributing to a number of projects: i) Drug repurposing for dementia risk reduction, ii) Processes of care in dementia community care and tools to assess the perspectives of people living with dementia and their companions/carers, iii) A novel app-based system to personalise domiciliary dementia care
Ilianna's research interests include primary and secondary prevention of cognitive decline and dementia. Her main interest is understanding relationships between modifiable risk factors (genetics) and dementia using longitudinal data analysis and evidence synthesis methods. Ilianna is also interested in ways to assess and improve quality of dementia care across settings including home care and future brain health clinics.
She has previously been a member of the Evidence Synthesis Team and led projects focusing on evidence-based practice to improve dementia care including the impact of interventions to improve experience of care for people with dementia in hospital, and implementation strategies to improve dementia care across settings.
