About me:
Hassanat has a background in Microbiology from the University of Ilorin. She proceeded for an MSc in Environment and Human Health at the University of Exeter, where she developed an interest in employing systematic reviews to inform evidence gaps and drive decision making to improve the population’s health and wellbeing outcomes.
Hassanat works part-time as a Research Assistant in the Exeter PRP Evidence Review Facility. Within this role, she is involved in projects that evaluate and synthesise research and other evidence to address policy needs across health and social care. She is also a first-year postgraduate research student at the Exeter Collaboration for Academic Primary Care (APEx). She is studying probiotics for urogenital infection management in primary care in a bid to offer supplementary therapies to antimicrobials, reduce the need for repeated use of antibiotics, and mitigate the burden of antimicrobial resistance.
