Clare joined the University of Exeter as a Senior Statistician in October 2024 in a joint role with the UKCRC registered Exeter Clinical Trials Unit and the Biomedical Research Centre. She is currently working on the CHORUS trial - a randomised controlled trial of prednisolone versus placebo for people with fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis. As a senior statistician, Clare will advise and support on all aspects of clinical trials, including: developing initial research questions, designing efficient trials, writing funding applications, ensuring robust, reliable data collection, interim analyses, final reports and writing publications.  

  

Clare has spent her entire career working in clinical trials, prior to joining the University of Exeter, Clare was a Principal Statistician at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit. She has worked on phase II and III randomised controlled trials working predominantly on a varied radiotherapy portfolio but also with experience of CTIMPs. Clare was also co-module leader on the statistics module of the ICRs MSc in Oncology. Clare aims to use her statistical expertise to improve outcomes for patients.
