Professor Stephanie Bull

Stephanie is an Associate Professor with an education focused role at the University of Exeter Medical School. She has been committed to delivering high quality education for future healthcare professionals and scientists through her teaching, education leadership and education focused research.
Her education leadership roles have included: Interim Programme Director (BMBS); Problem Based Learning Lead (BMBS); Year 1 Medical Knowledge Assessment Lead (BMBS); Life Sciences Resource Centre Lead (BMBS); Public Involvement in Medical Education Lead (BMBS);Microbiology Lead (Department-wide); Literature review module lead (Post-Graduate taught); Dissertation module lead (Post-graduate taught).
Stephanie has a strong reputation for education research. She has published over 30 papers, secured grant income for pedagogical studies, and presented at national conferences annually for over 20 years. Research themes include, education innovation, careers choice and perceptions, public involvement, equality/diversity/ inclusion and belonging.
Within the department Stephanie has been supporting health professions/science educators to develop their education practice and research. She holds a similar external role, working with the Education Research Committee of the Association for the Study of Medical Education. This has involved co-organising the international conference 'Researching Medical Education' annually since 2021.
Qualifications:
PhD Epidemiology of Campylobacter in broiler chickens (2005 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bristol)
Fellow and Senior Fellow of the HEA 2012 and 2014 respectively
