About me:
Originally a cell biologist (calcium signaling), Mark’s post-doctoral research was at Cambridge (epithelial chloride transport) and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in North Carolina (cystic fibrosis). He taught physiology and pharmacology at Kingston University for many years. His research, and that of his PhD students, was on a variety of topics including the anti-proliferative actions of phytochemicals. In between academic roles, he has worked in medical communications as a medical writer for pharmaceutical company clients
Interests:
Mark is actively engaged in bringing innovative education tools to students to supplement their learning. For example, he invented a card game called WhatThePharma? to help prescribing students learn about clinical pharmacology. The game is available from Focus Games at the following link: Home - What the Pharma (whatthepharmagame.com)
