Graduate Research Assistant
Clinical and Biomedical Sciences

I am a hard-working early-career researcher who is passionate about health data science, medical statistics, precision medicine, science education, mentorship, learning new skills and women and African-focused research.
Currently, I am working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Exeter as part of the Clinical Diabetes Research Team. My current project is entitled "Developing clinical calculators to improve the classification of atypical diabetes and diabetes in under-represented populations", where I have been working on improving correct diagnosis between type-1 and type-2 diabetes, in addition to improving the MODY Probability Calculator for use in populations other than those of European ancestry.
In a day-to-day, I have furthered my skills in R programming and data visualisation (particularly through tidyverse), regression strategies, R shiny web app building, clinical prediction model development and validation, science communication, data cleaning, reproducible coding, data wrangling and mentorship.
Previously, I have developed skills in Polygenic Risk Score methodologies, unsupervised machine learning clustering analyses (particularly for longitudinal data) and multivariate prediction modelling.
