Clinical and Biomedical Sciences
I am a neurology doctor with an interest in neurogenetics and movement disorders. I am currently undertaking a PhD with the University of Exeter Rare Disease Research Group (Prof's Crosby and Baple), researching the genetic neurological condition, hereditary spastic paraplegia.
My PhD fellowship is supported by the Wellcome Trust-funded GW4-CAT HP programme. I am co-supervised by Dr Joe Costello (Biosciences, Exeter) and Prof Val O'Donnell (Cardiff University).
With this PhD I hope to gain skills to better understand the genetic and molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in HSP and their wider relevance to other neurological diseases.
