About me:
I am an Associate Professor of Ageing Research and Honorary Consultant Geriatrician at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Trust.
I lead the AGE (Ageing and long-term conditions, Genomics and Epidemiology) Group.
My primary research interest is in data approaches to cardiovascular frailty and multiple long-term conditions. I am funded by an NIHR Advanced Fellowship focussed on cardiovascular frailty and am a work package lead for the GEMINI Multiple Long-Term Conditions collaborative.
In research delivery, I am Medical co-director and Ageing Lead of the NIHR Research Delivery Network South West Peninsula.
I represent the Academy of Medical Sciences at the UK Young Academy and am part of their Integrated Academic Training working group.
I supervise PhD students in cardiovascular frailty and multiple long-term conditions and am open to email enquires from students with their own funding interested in pursing a PhD in these areas. The AGE group also provides clinical academic training and mentorship for the NIHR Integrated Academic Training pathway, and I am primary supervisor for two academic clinical fellows.
I am an Associate Editor for Age and Ageing journal and a member of the British Geriatrics Society Geridata group and the European Geriatric Medicine Society Cardiovascular and BigData Special Interest Groups.
