Qualitative Research Reference Group

The Qualitative Research Reference Group is a group of experienced qualitative researchers belonging to different topic-based research groups within the Medical School. This includes using a broad range of qualitative research approaches to explore health services delivery, perspectives on social care, and the environment and human health.

Our aim is to develop qualitative research, support rigorous methods and promote the use of innovative approaches in this field.

To support qualitative research within the Medical School we currently run introductory workshops for postgraduate students, undergraduate and MSc teaching, and a Qualitative Research Forum which has hosted internal and external speakers. We have previously run a seminar series, Qualitative Research Advice Clinics, and workshops about writing papers for the Research Excellence Framework.
