Julia Vlachaki-Walker

Research Technican

After completing her BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience in 2012, Julia remained in the University of Dundee, and spent 7 months volunteering in Dr Will Fuller’s lab as a research technician. There, apart from carrying out support duties for the other members of the lab, she also worked on two projects, looking at the palmitoylation of FXYD5 and the phosphorylation of FXYD1, in relation to the cardiac sodium pump.
In September 2013 Julia started work as a research technician for Dr Craig Beall, looking at hypoglycaemia detection by glial cells. In November 2014 the lab relocated to the University of Exeter, where the team continue their work.
