Julia is an Honorary Lecturer in Genomic Medicine at the University of Exeter Medical School and a Principal Clinical Scientist at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust where she is a leading scientist within the national rapid exome service for acutely unwell children.
She joined the Exeter Genomics Laboratory in 2015 providing a diagnostic genetic testing service for patients with rare disease. Julia is also the Rare Disease Scientific and Education Lead for Genome Sequencing at the South West Genomic Laboratory Hub.
Julia’s research interests include applying next generation sequencing technologies for novel disease gene identification and improving diagnostic tests for all.
