Overview

Clinical Skills Tutor | BMBS Medicine
MSc Co-Lead | Advanced Clinical Practice
Advanced Paramedic | Primary Care

I am an Advanced Paramedic in primary care, Clinical Skills Tutor and MSc Co-Lead for Advanced Clinical Practice, splitting my time between caring for patients and passionately educating medical and allied health students. Having achieved a BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science, I have focussed my clinical studies in primary care therapeutics with specific interests in deprescribing and mental health. Within my educational roles, I have recently become engaged in deep psychological theory and critical pedagogy, applying this through an Education Fellowship with the University of Exeter Education Incubator and psychotherapy training. Here, I am greatly interested in the psychology of neoliberalism and challenging performativity-based education systems through integrating playful learning strategies.

Prior to joining Exeter I have held roles in various NHS clinical environments and have spent time training in remote/humanitarian medicine, volunteering in Northern India and the Calais ‘Jungle’ providing clinical humanitarian aid. Educationally, I have worked as a Lecturer in Paramedic Science, innovating and leading on patient assessment modules and physiology modules within modular-based curriculums.
