Evi Germeni is a Psychology graduate, holding a Master’s degree in Communication and Media Studies and a Ph.D. in Health Communication. Her research interests have primarily focused on the application of social-cognition models to the understanding of health-related behaviors and the development of tailored health communication interventions. She has worked on a variety of health-related topics, including injury and violence prevention, cancer care awareness, substance abuse, as well as childhood rare diseases. Supported by an Advanced Postdoc Mobility Fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation, her current work is concentrated on addressing key methodological challenges in the field of qualitative health research and enhancing scientific understanding of possible ways in which qualitative findings could be better integrated in evidence-based practice and health policy-making. Before coming to Exeter, she served as Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer of Qualitative Research Methods in Health Communication at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of Lugano, Switzerland.
